In the late summer of 2009, I gave a presentation to a delegation from Odense’s twin city Funabashi, Japan. When I got home, I was sitting and having fun over a pile of business cards, which were with purely Japanese characters – and thus quite incomprehensible to me.
However, there was one card that had English print on the back, and on this card was written Director of Funabashi H.C. Andersen Park.
I contacted the interpreter from the presentation event who arranged the contact to H.C. Andersen Park in Funabashi and this way around I got my first exhibition in Japan.
