Here is a screenshot from Saturday’s online workshop with Japanese participants. You can also see some of the participants’ beautiful paper cuts. It was a good experience, although it also became dramatic at one point.
Suddenly I could see that the participants looked a little absent. I was asked to stop cutting. A strong earthquake had just hit the northern coast of Japan and triggered a warning of a tsunami at a height of one meter. It was right in the area that was affected by the deadly earthquake and the subsequent tsunami in 2011.
After a few intense minutes, all participants had made sure their families were OK and I could continue to do paper cuts. The Japanese people are good at taking hard things cool…!
