Right now you can see the exhibition “Papirklip: A Global and Timeless Art” at Vesterheim in Iowa, USA.
I am very happy to have four framed paper cuts shown in the exhibition. In addition, one of my paper cuts can be seen on the exhibition poster in a photo taken by the Danish photographer Karen Relster.
The exhibition shows the diversity of paper cutting using examples of both historical and contemporary works by artists from various cultural traditions.
In relation to the exhibition, I will do two online activities together with Vesterheim in october and november 2022. It will be a webinar about paper cutting in general and a online workshop about my own paper cutting.
Vesterheim in Iowa, is one of the largest American organizations working to disseminate knowledge about Scandinavian language, cooking, crafts and art – including paper cuts.
The exhibition “Papirklip: A Global and Timeless Art” was created by the Museum of Danish America in Elk Horn, Iowa and is now touring in the US.
